To give you a better idea of what it's like to live and work in Costa Rica, I'm excited to introduce you to my new friend, Ale. Ale is a naturalist here in Costa Rica, which means that she studies and observes all the natural beauty around her. We met on Facebook while I was searching for guides in Esterillos, and we have since toured several times with her and gotten to know her very well. Here's Ale!
Alejandra Pérez Retana.
I live in Esterillos, Costa Rica. I actually just moved out of my home--it was a concrete building in a community on a hill about 500 meters from the beach. Now I live in a smaller home closer to the beach. It's nice to live near the beach, and a lot of the tours I lead explore the beach near my home, especially at night when you can see lots of kinkajous and sloths.
My family lives in Guanacaste, which is the region to the north. They are wonderful, but do not have a lot of money and we don't get to see each other very often. They are very proud of me for becoming successful.
