Argentina is a vast, diverse and culturally rich country. Therefore, like any place, there is a lot of history behind it all. This is what I have learned about Argentina's history so far:

The first part of Argentina's history is called the Pre-Columbian Era/Early History. This was about 13,000 years ago. During this era, the country was populated by a few different indigenous groups who were hunters and gatherers, pottery makers and farmers. In total, Argentina has 35 different known indigenous groups. In certain parts of Argentina and in museums, artifacts like cave paintings and pottery from these groups can be found. In the 15th century, tribes started being conquered for metal supplies like silver and copper.

Following in 1536, the Spanish Colonial era began. In this era, Europeans began settling in many parts of Argentina. Buenos Aires became a major port for many goods, and trade like metals, but also cattle, leather, and other products.

In 1810, the next era of Argentina's history began, the period of nation-building. From 1810-1818, there was the Argentine war of independence. They declared their independence on July 9, 1816, led by General Jose San Martin.
