Traveler Bio

My name is Anabelen Vasquez-Santamaria and I attend Arizona State University. I am currently majoring in Digital Marketing & Integrated Communications with a minor in Fashion. In my free time, I love going indoor cycling and trying new food with friends! I absolutely love spending quality time with my friends and family.

I am heading to Florence, Italy to study abroad for the semester. I applied to the Gilman Scholarship and I am so grateful for the opportunity! I decided to study abroad in Italy because ever since I was a little girl I always looked up to people who studied abroad and it became my dream to do it as well. I remember being in high school and begging my mom to let me study abroad during my junior year! Sadly, she did not let me and told me to wait until I was in college.

I have always had a passion for traveling. I love seeing new places and learning about new cultures. I remember going to Europe for my fifteenth birthday and instantly falling in love with Italy! The people were so nice that Italy was the only country I vividly remembered from my trip. Italy has some of the most beautiful art ever so I am very excited to share my experiences and adventures with you all! Are you as excited as I am?
