¡Hola! Hello! My name is Hanako Batt, but you can call me Hana. I'm from Boston, Massachusetts. Growing up, I always loved to surf and swim on our state's beautiful beaches. For college, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where I studied psychology, communications, Spanish, and Human & Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University. There, I developed my interests in linguistics and child development, leading me to apply for a grant at the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Upon my graduation in May, I taught English at a primary school here in Spain. I was lucky to receive my placement in the incredible Canary Islands, where I'm around the ocean, beaches and volcanoes on my home island of Lanzarote. It's an amazing time practicing my Spanish, trying Canarian food, exploring nature and making new friends on this island. I cannot wait to (virtually) bring all of you along with me on my adventures this year as I get to know and learn with you!
