My name is Kolten Conklen and I am from a rural town in Illinois. I am a student at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where I study global studies and East Asian languages and cultures. I am currently in Seoul, South Korea studying international relations and nuclear tensions on the Korean peninsula at Yonsei University.
This is my second time studying in South Korea. During my junior year of high school I was an exchange student to a tiny fishing village in rural Korea. I spent my days studying Korean, Korean culture, and forging intercultural relationships. This time I am living in the capital and studying at one of the most prestigious universities in the world. I can't wait to share with you my experience as I live on one of the most politically tense peninsulas in the world.
In my freetime I love cooking, dancing, traveling (I've been to the United Kingdom, Thailand, South Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan) and having fun. I will definitely share with you all the delicious food I eat/cook, all the breath-taking places I travel to, and all the interesting people I meet. Let's go!
