The weather got very cold very quickly! On Tuesday, the temperature was around 60 degrees Fahrenheit. But on Wednesday, it snowed. The rest of the week was very cold until Sunday, when it went back up to around 45 degrees. It was mostly very cloudy, although on Sunday it was a beautiful, crisp, sunny fall day. Perfect weather for hiking!
On Sunday, I went hiking in one of the national parks nearby. While on the hike we saw marmots, which are medium-sized, furry rodents that look kind of like groundhogs or weasels. We also saw wild deer, although we couldn't get too close.
The coolest thing I saw in nature, even though we were very far from them, was a herd of wild deer. The whole time we were hiking we could hear the male deer making their very loud mating call, which is to try to attract female deer to them.
