Hello! My name is Max.  Let me tell you a little bit about how my life path took me to Singapore.

Growing up in Dallas, I didn't have many opportunities to travel, but I liked to read books and that was a form of travel for me. When I was in middle school, I was nominated to take part in a student ambassador program that allowed me to go to the U.K., and I liked my time there so much that I traveled again in high school, this time to the Mediterranean. Those were my first times outside of the United States, and I loved it! I initially wanted to go to college outside of the U.S., but more U.S. colleges offered degrees in environmental studies and music than colleges abroad. I was okay with this because I knew I could still do a semester of study abroad, even though I was told it would be difficult because of my timeframe— trying to graduate in four years with two degrees is rough. I worked really hard to stay on track and to be able to take my allotted semester of study abroad.

As was the case with choosing a college, my choices for study abroad were very limited because of my specific degrees, but I found an exchange program between my school and Yale-N.U.S. college in Singapore. It was perfect since I love warm weather and I've never been to Asia.
