I was a bit hesitant to join any clubs at Yale-N.U.S. since I would only be there one semester, but taking part in clubs actually ended up being the best part of my experience this semester. During a Japan Society meeting, we got to watch a movie called Princess Mononoke, and the club bought us bubble tea, a drink with tapioca pearls in it and usually filled with milk tea.

"Walk the W.O.C." ended being the club where I met most of my friends. The club enables women of color to come together and get to know each other outside of schoolwork and classes. I met the majority of my non-exchange friends through that club since it was comprised of about 70 women. My suitemate was even in the club, and I also ended up joining her club, the Anti-Capitalist club, where we mostly just drew artwork and talked about improvements the school could make for students. I joined several other clubs, too, like the Astronomy Club, Green Environmentalists, the U.N. Society, and Society of Latinx, but these clubs weren't as active.

I also had fun social events at school through events like Diversity Week, Chinese New Year celebrations in February, and the weekly food giveaways in one of the dormitory offices. I frequently played games with friends, too, like Settlers of Catan, Mahjong and Avalon.
