My Story

I loved getting to learn about new countries right in my backyard!

I am interested in the data behind diseases and how we can use it to help people get healthier. I also like to study healthcare systems and how they work, including taking a look at hospitals, doctors, government, insurance and patients. Argentina is a big country, and sometimes kids live far away from a hospital. This year I am going to be studying how Argentina uses computers, digital platforms and video-conferencing to improve access to healthcare for kids who live in these remote areas. I hope that I can bring what I learn back to the United States and use it to help more sick people get better.

I am so excited to be back in Argentina. I spent four months studying public health here when I was in college, and I couldn’t wait to come back. My favorite things so far are dulce de leche churros (a dessert), the cemetery in Recoleta, and seeing a show at the Teatro Colón. I'll tell you more about those things soon. I’m going to miss seeing my friends, Heinz ketchup and summertime (it’s about to be winter here). Argentina is a beautiful country, and I can’t wait to share with you its natural beauty, important landmarks, and most importantly, all the delicious food I try along the way.
