As a Site Coordinator, I worked closely with students who were one to two years behind their reading levels. Many students were also like me, bilingual in Cantonese and English, so I got to connect with these kids on a deeper level due to my cultural background.
While completing my year of service with AmeriCorps, I found myself missing life abroad alot, especially life in Taiwan. This is why I applied to Fulbright to teach English in Taiwan, which brings me to my current journey teaching English in Taiwan to first through sixth graders. This year has been an incredible year of self-growth personally and professionally. I cannot wait to share it with you!
During my free time, you can find me practicing my languages (still working on my Mandarin), running, listening to music, traveling all corners of Taiwan and trying all types of foods! (P.S Taiwan is a food heaven for all you foodies out there!)
