Hello, everyone!

My name is Yejin, and I am a Korean-American who was born and raised in northern New Jersey. I grew up in my small town while trying to adapt to two cultures. After school, on Fridays, I attended Korean school and learned how to read, write and speak the language. Then, in my regular middle school I studied all of the other subjects that most students pursue such as biology, math, English and history. I always loved and embraced my culture through my identity. To this day, I share my culture with old and new friends. While I was growing up, my mom would always take my sister and me on roadtrips all around the East coast. I have been to Maine, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina and more! I have always loved traveling and exposing myself to new environments. I first discovered the concept of "studying abroad" during my freshman year of college, and I knew I wanted to study in another country during my academic career.

Currently I attend George Washington University as a junior, where I am pursuing a major in biology. One year ago, I made the decision to study abroad for the Spring 2020 semester. Originally, I planned to attend a university in Seoul, South Korea, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic I had to change my plans last minute.
