Traveler Bio

Hello! My name is Brianna Richards, and I come from one of the smallest towns in the smallest state in the USA: West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Today, I live in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where I'm helping to teach English to elementary (3rd through 6th grade) students.

Growing up, my whole school system was located within a few miles of semi-cleared forests, and it only took an hour to get from one end of the state to the other. While Rhode Island is not an actual island, it is known as "The Ocean State" because we have the ocean right next door and lots of beaches, too! As a kid, I often went on hikes with my parents, two brothers, and three dogs. I loved kayaking, riding ATVs, and going to the local beaches to collect seashells. I also really wanted to travel when I got older to learn about new people and places.

Since high school, I have traveled to many different countries and learned a lot about their languages and cultures. I also really like listening to music in different languages, so whenever I make new friends in the places I visit, I ask for recommendations. I just created the playlist for Taiwan, but I hope to add to it during the next year.

I hope you'll join me as I explore Taiwan, meet new people, experience what it's like to live and work abroad. Let's go on this journey together!
