How far did I travel this week?:

Most of my travels this week have been within my town or the main nearby city. Once a week, I go to the city to buy food at the market, get money at the bank and check my mail. I have to take a 30-minute colectivo (shared van) to get there. The rest of the week, I mostly walk to my work. I live within a 15-minute walk to the school, the health post, and the municipality. Tomorrow, I will travel to a nearby town, which will take me around 30 minutes, and I will give training sessions on planning and managing a water system, as well as teaching children about the importance of rational use of water so that they don't run out. People in this community only receive water twice a week, so we have to be very careful how we use it. This weekend, I will travel to the capital city of Peru, which is Lima. This will take me 4 hours. Sometimes I have to go to Lima to see special doctors or to purchase items that I cannot find in my small town.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I have been living in Peru for two years now. When I first arrived, I could not speak the language and I didnt know anything about the food, transportation or culture. Thankfully, I have met many nice people and been living with a Peruvian family, who helped teach me Spanish, cooked me different traditional foods, and gave me a lot of advice on how to get places.
