Well, everyone, the time has come. We are getting ready to say goodbye! So far, we have explored different aspects of the culture, food, homes, nature and what school is like in Lesotho. I am so thankful that I got to share some of my journey with your class. You all are so curious, intelligent and fun. I hope that my blogs, journals and field notes have made you feel hopeful and excited about your futures. I know that they are bright!

When I first moved to Lesotho, I found a lot of things confusing. As we've learned, life is very different here! I learned a new languag and new social norms, and I tried new foods. I had to learn how to be a good teacher in a whole new language. It was overwhelming at first. Trying new things can be scary, whether that is moving to a new country or just trying something new in America. The main thing to remember is that it takes courage to trust yourself to do hard things.

When I was younger, I didn't travel or know very much about the world. I never considered myself very brave or adventurous. However, I always wanted to do well in school and keep learning. I am so thankful that you all wanted to learn about my journey, too! I enjoyed hearing all your questions over Zoom and getting to hear about your projects. I hope your end of year projects go well!
