The weather in Vienna recently has been a little bit gloomy. Maybe it's because I'm ready to go home and am starting to feel a little bit homesick, but Vienna feels a bit toned down. Then again, the weather might also be reflecting the sadness of lockdown. I wake up at 7 am to go to school every day and every morning, I open my curtains to cloudy skies. The sun hasn't been out much. It's pretty chilly outside; I've definitely started wearing my winter coat, but the cold is pretty mild compared to Wisconsin winters. During my first year of college, it was almost -30 degrees outside, which was cold enough to instantly freeze boiling water. I have one professor that keeps having our class outside, in a park, due to COVID-19 so that we can take our masks off in order to eat. It's a foods and drinks class so we'll try foods in the park and learn about their history in Viennese cooking, but I'm always FREEZING in class. Whenever we have an outdoor class (we've had three already), I make it home feeling as though I have to defrost.
