Swedish food is very different from what I am used to. Yet, it is very tasty. There are a lot of bakeries where you can buy bread and sweet treats. There are not a lot of green vegetables available because it is so cold there. Instead, there are a lot of potatoes and other vegetables that grow underground.
I tried a lot of pastries. My favorite was semla. Semla is a sweet bread filled with almond paste and whipped cream. Gothenburg is next to the ocean so I also ate a lot of fish.
I was so excited to try new foods! The food always looked very good!
People love to cook at home! They typically bake in the oven, since the food comes out warm in their cold climate.
