The traditional outfits worn by a lot of the families are related to their environment because of the materials used in the outfits. A lot of the outfits are made of some kind of leather or animal hide. A lot of the makeup used is made with dyes from plants around the area. People use this day to embrace their heritage and the ways their ancestors lived. Throughout history, the environment has had a lot to do with the types of clothing and decoration used by people all around the globe, including in South Africa!
