It is so easy to shut down and isolate yourself from learning and immersion opportunities if you don't have this open-mindedness.
In conclusion, integrating yourself in a community is not quick. It takes time, and it has many challenges. There were moments when I thought I would never be a part of the community, and there were moments when I felt like I have lived here my whole life. The key was to be honest with myself and remind myself that I have only nine months here, and I need to take advantage of every second.
