Farewell!

We aren't very good at it, but it's always fun!
  • Heading to the beach in Dangriga to see my fellow volunteers and celebrate our one year of service in Belize.
  • For my one of my Belizean mom's birthday, we headed to the Rio On Pools which are naturally occurring fresh water pools.
  • Helping organizae an Anti-Bullying Awareness Walk through my school that included over 300 students and five different schools in town.
  • Meeting up with my host sister and playing pool with her in Caye Caulker (one of the islands).
  • Helping a group of eight kids at my school plan a presentation for a Youth Climate Action Symposium in town. They presented alongsides six other primary schools and four high school groups. They ended up coming in second overall... I was so proud of them!

I've made so many memories during my first year in Belize, I can't wait to see how the next year unfolds for me. The people that I have met here are remarkable, and they will continue to be part of my life. I'm so grateful to be surrounded by amazing individuals who are passionate about youth development, well-being, climate change and sports. The kids I work with have grown so much as individuals, teammates and students.

Remember to keep being curious about the world, ask questions and be patient with yourself as you grow. I hope you enjoyed following along on the journey!

    See you next time,

    Amber
