Welcome to my Journey!

I double majored in Kinesiology and Sociology. I continued coaching throughout all four years while playing field hockey. I also worked at the Global Education Office at William & Mary, where I helped students find which study abroad program was the best fit for them.

Right now, I live in Belmopan, the capital city of Belize. It is located right in the center of Belize, with the rainforest to the West and the Caribbean sea located to the East. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, I work on a project called Y.E.S. (Youth Empowered by Sports). There are two sides to my work. The first side is working alongside my counterpart at a local primary school to develop a Life Skills Club for all student-athletes (boys and girls) at the school. I also co-coach the sport teams at my school with a fellow teacher. The other side of my work is with the Belize National Sports Council. We are working on standardizing the five primary school sports (volleyball, track & field, basketball, softball and football/soccer) offered throughout the country and encouraging all primary school kids to be the best well-rounded individuals they can be.

My work has allowed me to visit different areas of Belize for sporting events and conferences. I have loved my time in Belize, exploring this beautiful country with my host family, learning about Belizean culture and traditions, and working with the development of youth sports.

Thanks for joining me on this journey! I cannot wait to share my adventures and the Belizean culture with you during these next few weeks!
