Hello! In this journal I wanted to expand on the short introduction in my traveler bio.

I was born and raised in Mexico. I grew up in the state of Michoacan on a tiny rural village by the name of San Juan. It was amazing to grow up somewhere so wild. There were no modern conveniences where I grew up but I think that made my childhood more exciting since I got to explore everything outside. Eventually, I had to go to grade school so we moved to the capital of the state, Morelia. Shortly, afterwards when I was seven years old, my parents, my younger brother and I moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado, in the United States.

Moving to the United States was a culture shock. I felt really small, and not knowing the language made me feel confused all the time. But when you're a child you absorb everything so fast, so I was able to understand and speak a lot of English in a year or two. Learning English is an eternal journey, and I still learn how to pronounce words, even now. I don't think I'll ever know how to say “iron!”

Sophomore year of high school I moved again, this time to Rockford, Illinois. Rockford is much bigger than Fort Morgan, and there was so much more diversity. In high school I was a part of Debate Team, Quizbowl and Environmental Club.
