This week, the weather was sunny and pleasant. Spring has arrived in North Macedonia, and the countryside is slowly waking up after winter. Trees are beginning to blossom, and farmers in the vineyards around Rosoman are busy preparing their fields for the summer growing season. Most days bring bright blue skies and sunshine. Even though the mornings can still be a little cold, it feels easier knowing that warmer days — and summer — are just around the corner.
This week I saw my first fox! I’ve started running more with friends in my village, and during one run, we spotted a fox darting along the edge of town before disappearing into the fields. We also ran past a small farm where a farmer was bringing his horses and mules in from grazing for the day. One curious horse even started running alongside us before heading down to the nearby river for a drink. Even a simple run through the countryside can turn into a small wildlife surprise.
