Nature News

A strange note about the birds is that in München there are many albino pigeons for some reason—many more than what I would expect to see in the US.

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

During my run, I went to the top of Olympic mountain, which I recently learned was built on top of old rubble from the second world war. From that viewpoint, one can see the park below and the surrounding city (I shared this photo in my presentation, and it is also here again). This area in München is particularly nice because of the integration of nature and humanity, which allows you to leave your house and avoid the feeling of a concrete jungle.

Other Nature News from this week:

München is not a town characterized by its overwhelming human-made structures, but it still possesses opportunities, such as jobs and a prestigious university, while also being surrounded by the endless Bavarian countryside. That is one of the benefits of München and Germany as a whole, but München does it best by mixing big-town convenience with a small-town feeling.
