There are many items that you can buy in the U.S. that are not available in the U.K. One item that is not widely sold in the U.K. is the candy bar "Milky Way" which happens to be my favorite. While grocery shopping can be challenging, price is something else to be mindful of. When buying anything in the U.K., you have to always remember that the currency is different. 50 U.S. dollars is only worth 38.96 U.K. pounds.
As time goes on, I've learned to adapt to this culture. The time it takes is different for everyone. The key piece of advice when studying abroad is to adventure out and try something new every day. Eventually you will become more comfortable with your surroundings and the people you surround yourself with. I loved intergrating into my community here in the U.K. They have become a second family to me and I will miss them when I eventually return to the U.S.
