Despite these frigid conditions, Ulaanbaatar enjoys an impressive amount of sunshine, averaging around 250 sunny days each year.
During walks to school in Ulaanbaatar this week, it was common to encounter several furry friends, including cats and dogs wandering the city streets. Mongolia has a significant population of stray animals, especially in urban areas. It is often hard to tell which animals are strays and which belong to someone.
