Cześć! That means Hello in Polish! My name is Caitlin Mello and I grew up in a small town just south of Boston, Massachusetts. It was a great place to grow up with a lot of historical and interesting spots to visit like the Museum of Science and touring around on duck boats that take people around Boston on the roads and in the water.

I attended college at the University of Vermont where I enjoyed hiking Vermont's many scenic mountains. My other hobbies include playing trombone and reading nonfiction books in my free time. I received my degree in social work after only three years. My favorite part of social work is that I get to help people when they are going through a difficult time in their life. During my senior year, I began to focus more closely on policy work and I even got to talk to the Vermont politicians about the best ways to help the people living in the state!

Since I finished my degree in three years, I never had the chance to travel abroad during college; so I looked for opportunities with my advisor and the Fulbright program stood out. I hoped to gain a better understanding of different cultures to inform my social work practice and I was looking for a new adventure in a different place other than New England.
