Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week was a special travel week. I traveled about 1,685 miles to Yerevan, Armenia. It was an hour flight from Berlin to Frankfurt, and then a four and a half hour flight to Yerevan.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Even though I haven't been in Germany long, I've already traveled to three cities: Leipzig, Frankfurt, and Rüdesheim am Rhine. Each city had a different charm to it, from Leipzig's music history, to Frankfurt's bustling international trade and Rüdesheim am Rhine's wine.

How did I get around this week?:

Besides my flight to Yerevan, I got around Germany by train! Germany has a special transportation pass called the Deutschland Ticket (Germany Ticket). For a monthly fee, you can ride unlimited regional trains across Germany for no additional costs. This includes all inner-city transportation as well. In Berlin specifically, transportation happens in several ways: by surface train (S-Bahn), subway (U-bahn), trams, buses and rentable bikes. You can get to just about any part of the city within 45 minutes or less using a combination of these methods.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

Yerevan, Armenia, was the most interesting place I visited. Yerevan is an incredibly culturally rich city.
