My research is motivated by a desire to contribute to creating welcoming environments for people who are displaced or otherwise on the move due to political, environmental, economic or social crises. I'd like to understand what is happening which supports migrants in creating a sense of well-being, community and belonging in a new country. My hope is that the cross-cultural communication and language skills that I have cultivated over the past years of my travels will contribute to my ability to make real connections with both migrants and their Italian hosts.
