Yesterday, they were playing the Beatles. I have also heard them play ACDC, Queen, and ABBA!
This week, we had a lot of snow and ice build up on the deck so people built a snowman on the deck of the ship!
I have been reading a book called "This Land," a book about land management in the Western parts of the United States. Because it includes a lot of information in Utah, I'm always reminded of my connections to home.
A lot of ping pong!! The people who have spent the most time at sea are the best ping-pong players because we do not have many other activities on the ship.
On the ship, we have a doctor and a nurse. They provided a CPR training for people who were interested in learning how to give CPR and use AED machines. We received training on using the AED and administering CPR on a test dummy.
We also had someone from the Atmospheric Science team explain the important tools we use on our ship. He talked about using sea spray, which produces fog plumes to shade and cool reefs during extreme weather events. This process slows down coral bleaching, which is critical for helping the environment!
