Maybe this is a wake-up call for me to start trying new restaurants, but in general, my go-to grab-and-go dinner meal is the braised pork bento box sold at a food stand that is on my way home from work.
I'm a huge Weeknd fan. I recently also signed up for a 10k race, where I often find myself running and listening to songs from his most recent album.
Apart from my memorable hike on Hehuanshan this past week, I had the opportunity to partake in a host family event earlier in the week as well! I got to meet my host family, Wayne and Abby, who are both extremely talented at roller-skating. We spent most of the day playing pickleball and badminton, and I was able to accompany them to their roller-skating practice. Although I was too scared to give it a try, I am investing in a pair of roller skates and will join them during a free-skate session at the local park in a few weeks.
Over the past week, I have been reading “The High Cost of Good Intentions” by John F. Cogan. I’ve found it to be a fascinating book that speaks on a lot of topics that I am interested in, including economics, social policy and American history.
To sum up all of my activities from this week: I hiked, played pickleball and badminton and gave my best attempt at roller skating. I also had the chance to play tennis at the local park, where some of the players helped me with some drills and work on my form.
