Some traditions in Senegal

During the holy month of Ramadan, the naming ceremonies are much shorter and food is not served because of the fasting. These naming ceremonies are called tuud ("to be named") instead. How do your traditions change to accommodate holidays or special times of the year?

Wedding: Before the wedding, the men visit the mosque where the imam (Muslim religious leader) gives a short sermon and elders offer advice. Then everyone receives bags of delicous baked goods and fruit juice before heading to the wedding party.
