It’s one of the most exciting and colorful celebrations I’ve experienced here.
This week I read Coyote Blue. Coyote Blue by Christopher Moore is about a man named Sam Hunter who is trying to leave his past behind. Sam is a Native American man who becomes successful in the business world, but he hides his cultural identity to fit in. His life changes when the trickster spirit Coyote suddenly appears and begins causing chaos in funny and unexpected ways.
As the story unfolds, Sam is forced to face his past, his family, and his identity. The book mixes humor, Native American mythology and important themes about belonging and self-acceptance. Even though it’s funny, it also makes readers think about what it means to truly know who you are.
This week I played both volleyball and soccer! I play soccer at least once a week with people in my community, and it’s always a lot of fun. Whenever I meet up with other volunteers, we usually end up playing volleyball together.
Both games get very competitive, even though we’re just playing for fun. It’s a great way to stay active, laugh a lot and connect with people here.
