Sweet Fruits and Desserts

I got this from a neighborhood called Liberdade, which is home to many Asian immigrants.
How did I feel when I tried it?:

Everything was delicious! The fruits were all sweet and juicy. The açaí bowl was refreshing and felt like a healthy treat. My favorite was the affogato! The mix of hot coffee and cold ice cream was perfect! Some of the fruits, like the mango and papaya, were almost too sweet, but in a good way!

How is the food prepared?:

I bought most of these foods at local markets. I looked for the fresh açaí fruit, but I learned that it spoils just 24 hours after it's picked! That's why you almost always see açaí in its frozen, smoothie form. Freezing it gives it a much longer shelf life, so more people can enjoy it.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Yes, very much so! Fruits such as mango, papaya, and açaí all grow well in Brazil's warm climate. Since they are grown locally, they are fresh, delicious, and a big part of what people eat every day. The immigration story also connects to the environment, as people from all over the world bring their own recipes and traditions to their new homes in Brazil.
