Having these types of experiences have taught me to truly understand and empathize with my friends’ differing experiences.
I think that the use of small cars and service vehicles rather than large buses is connected to the environment in a way. Roads in the West Bank are often quite narrow and steep and frankly, aren’t in good enough condition to support large buses with lots of people on them to frequently get around. However, more than anything, traveling by car and where you can go is connected to the unique political situation of the Palestinian Territories.
