Ciao students!
It's been an exciting few weeks in Bologna since I last talked with you all! We had the first snow fall in years on Epiphany, which is an Italian holiday celebrated on Jan. 6th. Everyone was out in the streets walking around and enjoying the snow falling on the city. The next day, I went back to work at the astrophysics institute. I'm 3 months into my program, with about six more to go. I'm so grateful to be here, researching astrophysics, and being able to share my work and stories with you all!
I hope that you all learned more about astronomy and Italian culture, but I also want to emphasize the importance of following your interests. I could never have guessed that I would be an astrophysicist living in Italy. But when I was younger, I dreamed about traveling the world and discovered Italian culture from my grandma, and began being interested in space. I think it's so important to listen to yourself and find opportunities that interest you; and if you follow them, you never know where you'll end up!
The U.S. Fulbright Program is an amazing scholarship that I encourage you all to remember if you want to pursue university studies or teaching. It can take you to most countries in the world, not just Italy! Thank you to Ms.
