The weather in Romania is generally more moderate than in the continental United States, but very cold compared to Hawai'i! This week it ranged from 20 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit, with light rain and many cloudy days.
I did not see many animals beyond pigeons this week, as I live in and visited urban cities. I would have seen bears in the Carpathian Mountians (where Cluj is) if they were not currently hibernating.
I saw the Carpathian Mountains for the first time! This is a famous mountian range in central Romania, but because I have only visited the south and live in the northwest valley of the country, I only saw them for the first time this week.
The Carpathian Mountains stretch across eight countries: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Ukraine.
