My First Month in Oulu

This album consists of a reflection of my first few weeks in Oulu. Although I miss home sometimes, I have really enjoyed this city and the natural beauty that surrounds me.

This is a picture of a modern-looking sauna in Oulanka National Park.
This picture is of a rare occurrence in nature that results when the clouds are at a very specific altitude and conditions are just right. I do not know the name of it but it was explained to us by a Finn who had seen them only a few times in his life.
A picture of Oulu's City Hall located in the city center. One of the first things I saw in Oulu.
Another picture of a frozen lake. Sometimes you can walk on them but we did not on this one because it looked too thin.
This trail was part of a five-mile hike in Oulanka. Most of it was not on a trail like this but through actual snow.
In Oulanka there are many fireplaces where you can start a fire. Usually Finns roast sausages over them when they go camping.
Finland has a lot of forests and trees. They are all really tall and a lot of them are evergreens.
I took a picture of the sunset near my apartment. The colors are really beautiful and I had never seen colors like that in a sunset before.
