¡Hola! ¡Imanalla! (Hi everyone!)
My name is Ethan Frey and I’m 24 years old. I’m from New Rochelle, New York, but I was actually born in Sydney, Australia -- pretty far away!
Since I was young, I’ve loved learning about different people, places and languages. In my neighborhood, there are many people from Latin America, so I started learning Spanish when I was 12 and kept learning it ever since! I have traveled to many countries around the world, and one of my favorite trips was to Peru, where I helped in different communities for a whole month.
In 2019, I moved to Vermont to go to college. I studied Community and International Development and Spanish. While I was in college, I also lived in Spain for a few months, went to Puerto Rico for a special internship and traveled to Saint Lucia with my class.
Now, I’m a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador, a beautiful country in South America! I live in a city called Ambato, which is known as the "Land of Fruits and Flowers." There’s even a big festival with parades, flowers and fruit every year!
Ecuador has amazing nature -- there are volcanoes, the Amazon rainforest, sunny beaches and the famous Galapagos Islands.
