Walter Cronkite served as the Chairman of Reach the World’s founding Advisory Board. Mr. Cronkite was not only one of the world’s leading journalists, but also a great explorer. Each year, RTW gives the Cronkite Award in his memory to an individual whose life and work exemplifies this intersection between exploration and storytelling.
Peter Guttman is a photographer, writer, author, app creator, fine artist, television personality, lecturer and adventurer who has traveled on assignment through all seven continents and over 220 countries. Author of eight hardcover books and numerous prestigious awards, he is cited as one of “20 of the World's Most Influential Photographers.”
Chase Guttman is a photographer, blogger, writer and drone-photography expert who has journeyed to over 50 countries and all 50 U.S. states, and been named an "Instagram Rising Star" and a “3 Best Travel Photography Blogger” by USA Today. Chase contributes regularly to numerous outlets and is a social media influencer, with over 60,000+ in his community.
Every day, Reach the World’s travelers bring the sights and sounds of the global community to life online for a youth audience. RTW is proud to recognize Peter and Chase Guttman with the 2017 Cronkite Award.
