Reach the World is one of five finalists for the 2015 Brooke Mahoney Award for Outstanding Board Leadership. The other finalists are:
Global Kids
New York Bar Foundation
Queens Community House
Transportation Alternatives
“These organizations are dedicated to providing services across our city and state, and we are glad to continue our tradition of showcasing the dedication of the women and men whose volunteer Board service is critical to the success of their fine organizations,” said David LaGreca, Executive Director of Governance Matters.
After a juried interview process, all the organizations will be recognized at a cocktail reception on March 10th. At that time, one of these finalists will be recognized as the winner of the Brooke W. Mahoney Award for Outstanding Board Leadership for 2015.
VCG Governance Matters established this award in 2010 to honor Brooke W. Mahoney’s memory. This award is unique in recognizing the dedicated work of an entire Board of Directors on behalf of their organization. The award is supported by a gift in Brooke’s memory from The Rauch Foundation on whose Board she served.
Previous winners include the Board of Directors of Harlem RBI – 2010; the Board of The Louis August Jonas Foundation – 2011; The Board of Alwan for the Arts – 2012; The Board of the New York City Anti-Violence Project – 2013; and The Board of East Harlem Tutorial Program – 2014.
