The Kaiserthermen are not still used for swimming today (and you’ll see why in my pictures of it!) but right across the street is modern-day swimming pool and sauna that’s very similar to what the ancient Romans used to use. There’s a cooler pool for exercising, a warm regular pool, and a hot tub area too!
The Romans settled in Trier because it was a good location in comparison to their other major cities, and because it’s right along the Mosel river. That meant it was a convenient place for trading goods. Therefore, Trier has carried a lot of these Roman traditions, and you can visit ancient sites like the Kaiserthermen!
