When my friends and I arrived in Brisbane to eat dinner together on our first night, we wanted food that was comforting and filling since we had planned to go to a jazz event after. We decided to try out New Season Asian Thai since we all love Thai food. I ordered the Tom Yum Kha soup with seafood. The dish was so warm and absolutely amazing to try! The mix of flavors was delicious and the seafood was so fresh since we are on the coast. Everyone was satisfied with what they ordered, and we all agreed that it was the best place we have eaten at so far since we started our semester abroad.
I went to the Black Dingo Cafe with my friend Julia, who is from Cologne, Germany, for brunch and walk along the beach. The cafe has so many good options to choose from. We both decided to get eggs benedict with sourdough bread and an iced chai latte. I will definitely be returning at least three more times before I leave because of how good the food and the coffee was! The cafe is set on a hill right next to Snapper Rocks, and you can see the entire beach full of surfers. It was a beautiful day outside and the view was gorgeous.
The Thai food was prepared in the kitchen of the restaurant. The Tom Yum Kha soup is made with seafood such as prawns, shrimps, oysters and squid. They have to prepare the seafood and cook it while boiling the soup. They also cut up cilantro, green onions, and mushrooms to add into it. The soup base has coconut, galangal, lemongrass and lime that adds rich flavors. I got my soup a bit spicy, and I rated it a three out of five for spice level.
