I also saw so many beautiful plants this week at the Cairns Botanical Gardens, many of which are native to Australia and Asia.
Throughout the week, we often biked throughout the gorgeous parks in the cities! The cities were so green and the air felt fresh. In Cairns, the atmosphere was more tropical with so many different trees. We went to Fitzroy Island our first day to swim at Nudey Beach, which is voted the #1 best beach in Australia. Did you know that you are not allowed to swim at beaches in Cairns and other northeastern parts of Australia because there are saltwater crocodiles that are on the beach?
Robert Irwin, Australian Zookeeper and conservationist, told us at his show that crocodiles are much more agressive and deadly than sharks! I definitely want to stay away from the crocs--yikes!
