In Dublin, Ireland, the weather likes to surprise me. When I wake up in the morning, I never know what it will be like outside. It might be raining when I eat breakfast, sunny when I go to school and windy by the time I come home! The weather changes so quickly that people in Dublin like to say, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes!”
It rains almost every day in Dublin. The clouds roll in from the sea and bring showers, which can be sometimes light and sometimes heavy. The raindrops make puddles on the ground that I love to splash in. The wind in Dublin can be very strong, too. It blows our umbrellas inside out (I am currently on my third) and makes my hair fly in every direction.
With the wind and the rain sometimes comes the fog, which is my favorite. Fog appears when the air is full of moisture and the temperature drops. Tiny water droplets hang in the air and make it hard to see far ahead. It’s like the city is wearing a soft, gray coat until the sun warms things up again. When the fog lifts, the streets and parks sparkle again.
After it rains, the sun sometimes shines through the leftover raindrops.
