For the first week or so, I was missing the food back in Nebraska and wasn’t really used to the food here, yet. Some of the Japanese meals are a lot different, so it took me some time to adjust. But after a little while, I started getting used to the food here and began trying more things. As I tried more foods, I enjoyed them more and more as time went on. Now I actually love a lot of the food here, and it’s been good for me to try different foods.
Food in Japan is prepared in a lot of similar ways to the way it is prepared in America, like grilling, or cooking on a stove. At the same time, some meals are made right in front of you, like okonomiyaki or takoyaki, which is really cool to see. I also eat a lot of food from convenience stores, here. In Japan, convenience stores are way better than gas stations in America. They have fresh meals like rice, noodles and sandwiches that are actually really good! I go to these stores pretty often because they offer quick and easy, meals that are also not too expensive.
Yes, it is. Japan is an Island surrounded by water, so finding fish in food dishes is very common. There is also a lot of rice that grows here, so people eat rice almost every day!
