Getting around in Kosovo is not too bad! Most people walk, drive or take the bus.
Walking is very common in Kosovo because Pristina is a pretty small city. In fact, on some streets such as Mother Theresa Boulevard, cars and other motor vehicles are prohibited so pedestrians can enjoy walking in peace safely. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops along Mother Theresa Boulevard and so it is usually very crowded.
Kosovo's bus system is quite different from the one in the U.S.! For starters, there are many types of buses in the country, including, inter city buses, local or intra-city buses and airport buses that transport people to and from the airport and city center. The other difference is buses often make many unscheduled stops, picking and dropping people along the way. This causes delays and a trip that should take 40 minutes might end up taking two hours!
There are no subway trains like those in New York or "L" trains in Chicago. Pristina is probably too small for a train system! I also have not seen anyone biking around Pristina, except for kids biking casually in their neighborhoods.
