Our News

What was the best meal this week?:

I made an egg scramble with very fresh eggs, tomato, unions, peppers and spinach.  "Dijo Dimonate", or the food is delicious.

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to some songs that the children sang at school while playing a social singing game. It was similar to “Duck, Duck, Goose.” It involved the first person walking in a circle inside a larger circle of children singing along. The lyrics, translated, are something like this: “The man wants a wife,” as the person chooses his wife by grasping her hand, and then they walk together in the center of the circle. The next lyric is “The wife wants a child,” as they choose the child by again grasping another person’s hand. They then sing that “The child wants a doll,” proceeding on to “The doll wants a dog.” When that person is chosen, everyone moves into the middle of the circle to make fun of the person chosen to be the dog.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The children in the junior secondary school presented two posters to the whole school. These 13 and 14 year olds designed and wrote with their original 'Mantras" on them.  Check out the pictures to see them.

What did I read this week?:

I have been reading a science fiction book called, 'The Lathe of Heaven', by Ursula K. Le guin. The main character is able to make his dreams change reality.  He calls them "effective" dreams, effectively changing the world by only dreaming it. Unfortunately, this is not always for the better.
