We shared drinks, stories, and so many laughs while watching an incredible live jazz band—a drummer, a guitarist, a cellist, and a stunning singer. Inside that club, time seemed to slow down. The music completely wrapped around us, and for a little while, we just got lost in the magic of it all.
Being a politics student abroad is amazing, but it means my "fun reading" time has totally vanished! Lately, my "pleasure reading" has been a big stack of super-serious articles about European security, fake news, and global politics. Let's just say it's not the most fun thing to dive into with my morning cereal!
It's important stuff, but I miss getting lost in a good story. So, I have a request for you: the next time we chat, please tell me what you're reading! I'm always adding new ideas to my giant "To-Be-Read" list for when I finally have a free moment.
This week, a friend taught me the most awesome card game called Kemps! It's fast, sneaky, and you only need four people to play.
Here's the deal: you and a partner sit across from each other, and it's a two-team battle. The goal is to be the first team to get four-of-a-kind (like four sixes or four sevens).
But here's the tricky part! You and your partner have to agree on a SECRET signal beforehand, a wink, a head scratch, anything silent. When you get your four-of-a-kind, you do the signal. If your partner spots it, they yell "KEMPS!" and you score a point! It's all about being sneaky and paying close attention. So much fun!
