When night falls, the metro starts to get sleepy and runs less frequently, so sometimes I befriend the night bus to get home.
But honestly, my favorite way to get around is simply by walking. That's when you truly discover Copenhagen's hidden magic, the quiet corners and beautiful details you'd totally miss if you were speeding by.
Hands down, the coolest place I visited this week was the Hermitage Hunting Lodge. This isn't just any old building—it was built in the 1730s as a fancy royal dinner party spot for King Christian VI after a day of hunting! I later discovered it's so important, it's an official UNESCO World Heritage Site.
But the most magical thing about it is how it looks. Perched on a hill overlooking the sea toward Sweden, with its compact and ornate design, it doesn't feel entirely real. It looks like a gorgeous, miniature castle that you'd see in a magical holiday snow globe!
It's a bittersweet feeling, but my amazing adventure living in Copenhagen is entering its final chapter. Before I have to say goodbye, I've got two last epic trips to squeeze in!
First stop: the fairy-tale city of Prague in the Czech Republic, where I'll be wandering through ancient castles and crossing historic bridges. Then, I'm off to the city of lights itself, Paris, France for Thanksgiving break! I can't wait to experience the magic of the Eiffel Tower and, most importantly, taste a perfectly flaky, buttery, freshly baked croissant. What a way to wrap up this unforgettable semester!
