This week I’ve been all over the place with music, with a mixture of some upbeat pop to keep me moving around the city, a bit of indie while relaxing and a few nostalgic tracks that make me feel like I’m back home. Sydney has such a good vibe for music, and I love how the soundtrack of my week changes depending on where I am and what I’m doing.
We rented a car for two days and traveled up the coast to Port Stephens. We went sandboarding and watched a surf competition.
This week I’ve been reading Gone Girl. I love thrillers, and reading on the beach might be my new favorite hobby, because there’s something about the waves, the sun and a good plot twist all at once.
This week in my sports and culture class, we learned to play rugby and Aussie football. Both were a ton of fun, rugby for the teamwork and strategy and Aussie football for the chaos and fast pace. It was definitely a workout, but I loved trying something completely new.
For my sports and culture class, I went to a National Women's Soccer game against Korea, a National Rugby League game, where Sydney beat some kind of record and the fans rushed the field, and an Australian Football League game. All provided super cool and exciting ways to experience Australian culture. The soccer game was at Olympic Park, which was really cool.
